NSW prohibits the fitting of Telescoping Buttstocks to firearms.
Information from the NSW Firearms Registry is that you may purchase said buttstock and that it only becomes an issue when actually fitted to the rest of the weapon. The information indicates that if you purchase a buttstock and take it to a licenced firearms dealer or gunsmith[authorised to trade in Item 11 of Schedule 1 (Prohibited Firearms) of the NSW Firearms Act] for fitting to the weapon, and pinning (so that it is permanently and irrevocably fixed in a position) you will be complying with NSW state law.
